Scuba diving may be a fun water experience but there are rules that people should know first prior to taking the plunge. Overtime these rules have changed. For instance, in the past, divers were advised to dive their deepest depth early in the process. But today, reversed dive profiles are allowed due to the capacity of present day computers to track the diver and his nitrogen exposure. Another rule that has changed is connected to ascent rate. Divers are now encouraged to only ascend 30 feet per minute instead of the traditional 60 feet per minute. This particular change is a result of studies that show fewer DCS cases correlated with the 30-foot-per-minute ascent rate. Aside from these two rules, there are other scuba diving rules that divers should remember. Some of them can be found on the site indicated in the link.
